Physical Therpy For Injuries and Pain in Spring Lake, NJ

If there's one universal truth in life, it's that it can be unpredictable. Everyone experiences unexpected events that throw us off. While some surprises may only affect our bank accounts, such as home expenses, others can cause physical harm, such as car accidents that result in long-term pain and discomfort. Many Americans suffer from chronic neck and back pain - according to research, half of Americans over 18 develop musculoskeletal injuries that last longer than a year. These injuries often cause a range of mobility issues that make everyday tasks seem hard to do. Unfortunately, many people with chronic pain turn to addictive medications and invasive surgeries for relief, which tends to lead to further complications.

The DRX9000: Relief from Chronic Back and Neck Pain

Are you sick of living day-to-day with long-lasting neck or back pain? Have you searched high and low for a safe and effective alternative to surgery? The DRX9000 may be the answer you're looking for.

Beloved by high-level athletes and even celebrities, this advanced medical device employs non-surgical spinal decompression therapy to treat painful conditions such as:

  • Bulging Discs
  • Herniated Discs
  • Spinal Stenosis
  • Facet Syndrome
  • Sciatica
  • Arm Pain from Nerves in Your Neck

The DRX9000 is a device that has been approved by the FDA for treating herniated discs through spinal decompression therapy. This therapy works by applying equal amounts of pressure on your vertebral columns, which stretches your spine and creates a gap between spinal discs. This gap allows for better nutrient flow through your spine, which can help heal injuries gradually with regular treatment sessions. The DRX9000 also utilizes servo motors that rely on nested closed-loop feedback to customize therapy to your unique needs. By using DRX9000, you can often speed up your recovery by addressing your spinal disc issues ASAP.

No Harmful Medications Needed (Do we really need this paragraph or could we just mention it int he beginning about how it is a non-pharmaceutical method)

Perhaps the most significant advantage of the DRX9000 is that it provides a non-pharmaceutical method for relieving pain. With the opioid epidemic affecting the entire nation, many patients are reluctant to take prescription painkillers. The DRX9000 offers a secure and non-addictive alternative for pain relief that does not require medication.

During the course of the treatment, the patient will lie down on a specially designed table that is connected to the machine. The table will then be gently stretched as the machine creates negative pressure within the affected disc. This process will be repeated over a series of sessions, typically ranging from 20 to 30 sessions, depending on the patient's specific condition.

The DRX9000 treatment is considered to be safe and effective for many patients. It is designed to be gentle on the body, and patients usually experience little to no discomfort during their sessions. The machine is also equipped with advanced safety features, including sensors that can detect any sudden movements and stop the machine if necessary.

Experience Optimized Healing with LiteCureâ„¢ Low-Level Laser Therapy

After reading the headline above, you might be asking yourself, "Are lasers really used for physical therapy in cityname, state?" The answer to your question would be a resounding "Yes!" This advanced type of laser therapy harnesses the power of light through photobiomodulation (PBM), which is revolutionizing how patients heal and deal with pain.

Photobiomodulation (PBM) is a medical process that utilizes targeted light to activate the body's natural healing mechanisms. By penetrating deep into the tissue, photons interact with mitochondria (the cellular powerhouses in your body) to increase energy production. This interaction triggers a biological cascade that leads to increased cellular metabolism. As a result, PBM can reduce pain, accelerate tissue repair, and enhance overall well-being.

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is a non-invasive and painless treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to stimulate healing and reduce pain. It works by penetrating the skin and tissues to promote cellular activity and increase blood flow, which in turn helps to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and accelerate the healing process.

LLLT has been shown to be effective for a variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, arthritis, neuropathy, and more. It is a safe and gentle treatment option that can aid in regaining function and mobility from injuries, accidents, surgeries, and other conditions. That makes it a viable and trustworthy addition to your personalized physical therapy plan from NJ Sports Spine & Wellness.

LLLT has shown promising results for challenging conditions that other treatments can't match. Some of the most common conditions treated include:

  • Muscle Pain
  • Pain from Tendinopathy
  • Osteoarthritis Pain
  • Swollen Joints
  • Myofascial Pain
  • Back and Neck Pain

Freeze Away Pain and Swelling with Ice Compression Therapy

Game Ready Ice Compression Therapy is an advanced treatment technique that combines the advantages of modern cryotherapy (ice therapy) with the proven benefits of compression therapy. Understanding the Powerful Benefits of Ice Compression Therapy

Sciatica Pain Therapy Spring Lake, NJ

Game Ready Ice Compression Therapy is an advanced treatment technique that combines the advantages of modern cryotherapy (ice therapy) with the proven benefits of compression therapy. This clinically proven, synergistic approach is widely used in sports medicine, physical therapy, orthopedics, and post-operative care to speed up recovery, alleviate pain and inflammation, and enhance rehabilitation.

The "cold" component of ice compression therapy helps nullify nerve-ending sensitivity, which provides pain relief. The extra compression gives you even more pain relief by reducing swelling and pressure on limbs and other body parts.

By improving lymphatic flow and enhancing blood circulation, compression therapy can help reduce swelling and edema, thereby improving your recovery process and simultaneously reducing pain and discomfort.

The concurrent use of cryotherapy and compression can enhance the body's innate healing mechanisms by reducing inflammation, mitigating tissue damage, and stimulating tissue repair.

Game Ready's combination therapy has been shown to be effective in improving joint flexibility and range of motion by promoting tissue healing. This treatment can be a great option for those looking to alleviate discomfort and improve overall joint health.

N.J. weather: Apparent waterspout spotted off Jersey Shore

The National Weather Service says a waterspout may have developed off the coast of Monmouth County shortly before noon on Thursday as rain showers and swirling winds were detected offshore in the Atlantic Ocean.

“It seems like given the environment, it was probably a waterspout,” weather service meteorologist Alex Staarmann said after viewing two photos that were posted by beach-goers on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

“The ocean water is pretty warm,” Staarmann said. “There’s probably just enough wind shear and vorticity (rotation of winds) off the shore to allow for a waterspout to develop.”

(The video footage below was recorded by Alexis Walling, who said she was on the beach in Spring Lake when she saw a funnel cloud spinning above the ocean. She said the cloud grew larger and appeared to touch the water surface.)

One photo, posted by NBC-Philadelphia meteorologist Justin Godynick, shows an apparent waterspout off the coast of Ocean Grove. Another photo, also posted by Godynick, showed a funnel cloud hovering above the ocean near Spring Lake.

Staarmann said it’s possible the Spring Lake photo may have been snapped shortly before or shortly after the bottom portion of the funnel cloud touched the water surface. If a funnel cloud hits water, it is classified as a waterspout. If it touches down on land, it would be considered a tornado.

Waterspouts are basically swirling columns of air and water, with the same characteristics as tornadoes. On average, New Jersey usually gets a few waterspouts each year.

While waterspouts are more likely to form during strong thunderstorms, the weather service said no lightning or thunder was reported during the rain showers along the Jersey Shore in the late morning or early afternoon.

UPDATE: After reviewing photos and radar images, the National Weather Service determined it was a waterspout that touched down off the coast of Monmouth County at about 11:51 a.m. Thursday.

The striped bass fleet was, at times this week, fishing in plain view of the Essex Sussex in Spring Lake, one of the grander landmarks on the Jersey Shore, or parallel to the Highlands bridge.

There were considerably more smaller fish in the fray, which meant a lot of fishermen walked off the boats with a keeper bass in tow, rather than a photo or memory of fish that had to be released. The prime depth was about 30 feet where water temps were hovering in the upper 50s.

Capt. Rich Falcone on the Golden Eagle party boat said there were a lot of bass up top feeding on bunker and they caught them with fresh bait or with soft plastic swim shads. His fares landed keepers and slot size fish but also released a bunch that did not make the size limit.

The boat captains should have some good conditions on the water with light winds out of the west, northwest and north forecast for the weekend by NOAA. Speeds shouldn't top 15 knots and wave heights should be minimal. It could be a bit chilly Sunday as air temps are expected to climb higher than 42.

More:Smaller striped bass enter the fall run, as fishermen begin to see more keepers

Along the beaches, the surfcasters tied into a bunch of bass right around the keeper mark. There was a good bite from Sandy Hook to Sea Bright. According to Giglio's Tackle, the bass were following the bunker and were right underneath the dense pods of bait. Anglers caught many of the fish just blind caster into the pods with metal lip swimmers, shads, glide baits and pencil poppers.

The shop also reports of surf fishermen landing bass one beach north of Convention Hall in Asbury Park, another signature Jersey Shore landmark.

On Long Beach Island there is a new leader in the nine-week long fall surf classic. Chris Masino, of Beach Haven, knocked Steve Taylor off the top of the mountain with an 11.10-pound, 29 ¾-inch striped bass he caught late Wednesday night fishing at Barnegat Light. The fish was caught on a lure. Taylor had been leading since day two of the tournament. Masino will need to hang on for a month longer to win.

'As fast as you can pull them in'

The bottom fishing boats keep returning with a good haul of sea bass and porgies. Land-based anglers are pulling blackfish, or tog as some like to call them, out of the inlets.

The sea bass migration to their offshore winter grounds is well underway. Capt. Howard Bogan Jr. on the Jamaica party boat made a run on Sunday that was very productive He said the fish started biting right away and by the end of the trip he had a full boat limit of sea bass and porgies. His fares reeled in some harder fighting bluefish and pollock that were hanging above the wrecks he anchored on. Tobias Derkits from New York City landed the big pool fish, a 10-pound pollock.

More:What's biting: get the latest fishing reports here

Closer inshore, the porgies are dominating the catch. There are still seas bass in say 120 feet of water but they're not nearly as present now as the porgies. Capt. Ryan Bogan on the Jamaica II said they were catching them "as fast as you can pull them in," on his trip Wednesday.

SPRING LAKE -- Spring Lake’s Board of Aldermen is expected on Monday to pass an ordinance declaring a road closure for the town’s Veterans Day ceremony.

The board meets at 6 p.m. in the Grady Howard Conference Room of the Spring Lake municipal complex.

The Veterans Day ceremony will take place on Nov. 10. It will also include the unveiling of a mural at the corner of Spring Avenue and Main Street.

According to the N.C. Department of Transportation, there are no other activities or road maintenance projects scheduled during the time of the event, so the state agency only requests an adopted ordinance by the town to close the road.

The Veterans Day event is co-hosted by the Spring Lake Military and Veterans Advisory and the Appearance and Sustainability committees.

The mural, which took three days to paint, will also be unveiled. Artist Max Dowdle, who was contracted by the town for the project, said this is his 30th mural painted this year; he’s done nearly 70 during his career.

“It’s really ramped up in the last 18 months,” he said of his work. “Coming out of Covid, municipalities started embracing public art.”

Dowdle’s background in art combined with his love for murals while helping a friend in New Jersey.

“I didn’t really feel it was for me at the time, but then I painted the entire Durham City Hall in 2019 and it started to become a full-time profession,” he said.

Dowdle has painted numerous murals across the state, as well as in Virginia, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. He has committed to other mural projects through March of next year, and has been engaged in a new project through N.C. Main Street, which calls for 100 murals across North Carolina’s 100 counties.

He said he’d love for Spring Lake to be one of the first in the new project series starting in April.

“There has been an awesome response from this community,” Dowdle said.

As he and other volunteers painted last Friday, passers-by stopped to provide a case of water and a local store around the corner donated more water and snacks for volunteers.

Christopher Larson and his wife, Kathleen Welloffman-Larson, found out about the project through a local news report and were painting alongside Buffy Taylor, who is training under Dowdle as a professional artist. Other volunteers included children who donated their time after their school days at Village Christian Academy and Warrenwood Elementary School ended.

Alderman Raul Palacios, who serves as an ex-officio board member of the Appearance Committee, stopped to share his thanks with volunteers and express appreciation. He said he hopes this will be the first of many on the new Spring Lake Art Trail.

Cynthia Wilt, a member of the Spring Lake Appearance and Sustainability Committee and the chairwoman of the mural project, said she hopes the committee will be able to hire Dowdle again — and this time concentrate on local legends and heroes. She said the committee has already been offered wall space in Spring Lake for another mural.

Dowdle said that close to a dozen volunteers helped in the first two days of his work and the project was able to stay on schedule through the end.

For the unveiling, Dr. David Dickerhoff, who serves on the Appearance and Sustainability Committee, said that First Presbyterian Church at 101 Spring Ave. will host a continental breakfast before the ceremony.

Gen. Dan Allyn, a retired Army general who served as the 35th vice chief of staff of the Army and the commanding general of the 18th Airborne Corps and U.S. Forces Command, will be the main speaker.

Other agenda items for Monday's meeting include an update from the contracted alliance code enforcement agency and a financial update from the Local Government Commission.
