Physical Therpy For Injuries and Pain in Milltown, NJ

If there's one universal truth in life, it's that it can be unpredictable. Everyone experiences unexpected events that throw us off. While some surprises may only affect our bank accounts, such as home expenses, others can cause physical harm, such as car accidents that result in long-term pain and discomfort. Many Americans suffer from chronic neck and back pain - according to research, half of Americans over 18 develop musculoskeletal injuries that last longer than a year. These injuries often cause a range of mobility issues that make everyday tasks seem hard to do. The DRX9000: Relief from Chronic Back and Neck Pain

Are you sick of living day-to-day with long-lasting neck or back pain? Have you searched high and low for a safe and effective alternative to surgery? The DRX9000 may be the answer you're looking for.

Beloved by high-level athletes and even celebrities, this advanced medical device employs non-surgical spinal decompression therapy to treat painful conditions such as:

  • Bulging Discs
  • Herniated Discs
  • Spinal Stenosis
  • Facet Syndrome
  • Sciatica
  • Arm Pain from Nerves in Your Neck

The DRX9000 is a device that has been approved by the FDA for treating herniated discs through spinal decompression therapy. This therapy works by applying equal amounts of pressure on your vertebral columns, which stretches your spine and creates a gap between spinal discs. This gap allows for better nutrient flow through your spine, which can help heal injuries gradually with regular treatment sessions. The DRX9000 also utilizes servo motors that rely on nested closed-loop feedback to customize therapy to your unique needs. By using DRX9000, you can often speed up your recovery by addressing your spinal disc issues ASAP.

No Harmful Medications Needed (Do we really need this paragraph or could we just mention it int he beginning about how it is a non-pharmaceutical method)

Perhaps the most significant advantage of the DRX9000 is that it provides a non-pharmaceutical method for relieving pain. With the opioid epidemic affecting the entire nation, many patients are reluctant to take prescription painkillers. The DRX9000 offers a secure and non-addictive alternative for pain relief that does not require medication.

During the course of the treatment, the patient will lie down on a specially designed table that is connected to the machine. The table will then be gently stretched as the machine creates negative pressure within the affected disc. This process will be repeated over a series of sessions, typically ranging from 20 to 30 sessions, depending on the patient's specific condition.

The DRX9000 treatment is considered to be safe and effective for many patients. It is designed to be gentle on the body, and patients usually experience little to no discomfort during their sessions. The machine is also equipped with advanced safety features, including sensors that can detect any sudden movements and stop the machine if necessary.

Experience Optimized Healing with LiteCure Low-Level Laser Therapy

After reading the headline above, you might be asking yourself, "Are lasers really used for physical therapy in cityname, state?" The answer to your question would be a resounding "Yes!" This advanced type of laser therapy harnesses the power of light through photobiomodulation (PBM), which is revolutionizing how patients heal and deal with pain.

Photobiomodulation (PBM) is a medical process that utilizes targeted light to activate the body's natural healing mechanisms. By penetrating deep into the tissue, photons interact with mitochondria (the cellular powerhouses in your body) to increase energy production. This interaction triggers a biological cascade that leads to increased cellular metabolism. As a result, PBM can reduce pain, accelerate tissue repair, and enhance overall well-being.

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is a non-invasive and painless treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to stimulate healing and reduce pain. It works by penetrating the skin and tissues to promote cellular activity and increase blood flow, which in turn helps to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and accelerate the healing process.

LLLT has been shown to be effective for a variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, arthritis, neuropathy, and more. It is a safe and gentle treatment option that can aid in regaining function and mobility from injuries, accidents, surgeries, and other conditions. That makes it a viable and trustworthy addition to your personalized physical therapy plan from NJ Sports Spine & Wellness.

LLLT has shown promising results for challenging conditions that other treatments can't match. Some of the most common conditions treated include:

  • Muscle Pain
  • Pain from Tendinopathy
  • Osteoarthritis Pain
  • Swollen Joints

Understanding the Powerful Benefits of Ice Compression Therapy

Game Ready Ice Compression Therapy is an advanced treatment technique that combines the advantages of modern cryotherapy (ice therapy) with the proven benefits of compression therapy. This clinically proven, synergistic approach is widely used in sports medicine, physical therapy, orthopedics, and post-operative care to speed up recovery, alleviate pain and inflammation, and enhance rehabilitation.

The "cold" component of ice compression therapy helps nullify nerve-ending sensitivity, which provides pain relief. The extra compression gives you even more pain relief by reducing swelling and pressure on limbs and other body parts.

By improving lymphatic flow and enhancing blood circulation, compression therapy can help reduce swelling and edema, thereby improving your recovery process and simultaneously reducing pain and discomfort.

The concurrent use of cryotherapy and compression can enhance the body's innate healing mechanisms by reducing inflammation, mitigating tissue damage, and stimulating tissue repair.

Game Ready's combination therapy has been shown to be effective in improving joint flexibility and range of motion by promoting tissue healing. This treatment can be a great option for those looking to alleviate discomfort and improve overall joint health.

MILLTOWN, NJ - Borough voters will be deciding on three open seats for the Milltown Board of Education in the upcoming November 2024 election. Patty Tymon has been a resident of Milltown since May 2007. Tymon, who is the Executive Secretary to the Superintendent of the Edison Township School District, is running for re-election to the Milltown BOE on November 5.

“With deep commitment to student safety, emotional security and well-being, I want to build on the progress we've made and continue fostering open communication and parent engagement,” Tymon said as to why she is running for re-election. “My goal is to follow through on meeting the needs of both students and staff to create a thriving educational environment.”

“There is no greater honor than having a positive impact on a child's life and future,” Tymon continued. “As a parent raising my children in Milltown, I have the experience of working with the teachers, the administrators and parents to ensure the kids have the best experience possible. Being re-elected, means I can continue to focus on the needs of the district and the community. We must all remember we are all stakeholders here for the benefit of the children and that is my purpose.”

In addition to being a member of the Milltown Board of Education, Tymon also volunteers for the Milltown Parent Teacher Organization and the St. Bart's Football and Cheerleading Organization.

During her time on the Milltown Board of Education, Tymon was gratified by several accomplishments.

“I am proud of our efforts to ensure that all students, regardless of background, are provided with an equitable education,” Tymon said. “The board has taken meaningful steps to address the growing diversity in our community and implemented programs that focus on the emotional security and well-being of our students. Another accomplishment has been fostering open communication between the district and the parents, helping to build trust and engagement. Additionally, ensuring the safety of our students has been a top priority.”

As a board member and a parent, Tymon enjoys several things about the Milltown School District.

“Milltown is a small town and a close-knit community, so our school district reflects the ideals of this type of community,” Tymon said. “In a small town, everyone pretty much knows everyone. We look out for each other's children and are always willing to help. The focus of emotional well-being and open communication with parents makes Milltown a special place where students can thrive both academically and personally. As a parent of a fifth grader and a junior, I've experienced firsthand the positive impact this environment has on students.”

Tymon feels one of the issues currently impacting the Milltown School District is “ensuring that we continue to provide an equitable education to all students while addressing the challenges of our growing diversity.”

“Student safety, both physical and emotional, remains a key concern, as does making sure we have the resources to support students' emotional well-being,” Tymon continued. “We must also focus on maintaining open communication and increasing parent engagement to ensure everyone feels heard and involved in the decision-making process. Finally, meeting the evolving needs of both students and staff is an ongoing priority.”

If re-elected in November, Tymon has several goals.

“My goals are to ensure that all children in our district continue to receive an equitable education, regardless of background or circumstances,” Tymon said. “I will focus on fostering a safe, inclusive environment that supports the emotional security and well-being of every student. Enhancing communication and engagement with parents will remain a priority as well as following through on meeting the needs of both students and staff to promote their success. I'm committed to seeing these initiatives through ensuring our district continues to grow and improve.”

Election Day is on Tuesday, November 5. To register to vote or learn about vote-by-mail and early voting options, visit the Middlesex County website. The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming November election was October 15.

“I am deeply passionate about ensuring that all students are given the opportunities and support they need to succeed,” Tymon added. “The board has worked to address critical issues such as equity, diversity, student safety and emotional well-being, and I am committed to continuing this work. With your support, I hope to further enhance communication, engage parents, and follow through on the important initiatives that will shape the future of our schools.”

WESTFIELD, NJ — As the grand opening of Maize Cocina & Cocktails neared to less than two days — after two years of delays — the restaurant at the North Avenue train station in Westfield celebrated Sunday evening with a preview event. Attendees enjoyed a mix of signature appetizers and beverages inspired by a Mexican fusion menu showcasing dishes inspired by Mexico’s rich culinary traditions, melded with diverse worldly influences.

Helping to welcome guests were Executive Chef and Maize co-owner Jesa Henneberry, a tri-state transplant from the Midwest, who, in addition to being a winner on the Food Network’s “Chopped” has worked as a New York City culinary consultant and private chef for the past 14 years; and Maize co-owner Kamal Arora, CEO of Arora Hospitality and a leader known for promoting Indian cuisine globally.

“Maize Cocina & Cocktails will offer the Westfield dining public an elevated Mexican fusion experience, where bold flavors meet modern techniques, all within the beautifully renovated historic train station — combining rich heritage with a modern vibe for a dining experience like no other," Henneberry said.

Henneberry honors the roots and many uses of corn and its ties to local, sustainable agriculture through a thoughtfully curated menu of Mexican fusion dishes. Appetizer selections at the Maize preview event included classic guacamole; a trio of classic, charred scallion tomatillo verde and sour orange chile de arbol salsas; Peruvian pulled pork quesadillas; and cornmeal fried grouper tacos.

Chef de Cuisine Isaias Lira brings a wealth of experience from renowned establishments such as Atla, Cosme, Bouley, Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare and Roberta's.

Fueled by the spirit of exploration, Maize Cocina & Cocktails’ skilled bartenders craft destination-inspired concoctions designed to whisk you away. Offering botanical cocktails with a twist, drink selections included cocktails such as “The Corn Maize,” a mix of Michter’s bourbon, Patron Reposado tequila, banana, lemon juice and egg white; and “Talk to the Spirit,” made with Mezcal Union, Tres Agaves nectar, Cointreau and lime juice. Wine selections, agave flights and nonalcoholic beverages are also available.

The culinary delights are complemented by remodeling and design work to the 3,050-square-foot space, which had only been used for railroad needs previously.

“Everyone is loving their food and drinks in the space,” Henneberry said. “The aesthetics sell themselves.”

Completed in 1892, the North Avenue train station, featuring castle-like stonework, offered Maize management the opportunity to create a harmonious juxtaposition of old and new, spacious, bright, natural lighting within a historic framework.

Negotiations over needed upgrades such as utility connections to the building, which had not received any significant upgrades since the year it was built, contributed to its more than two years of construction delays.

The space today offers areas spotlighting original brick and reclaimed wood, in a spacious, bright environment offering both natural lighting and a historic framework, Arora noted. Maize Cocina & Cocktails currently offers 100 indoor seats, with outdoor seating coming next spring.

The restaurant is pleased to partner with local and women-owned businesses, said Beth Wolfe, general manager, noting that its 300 handmade napkins were created by Maria Irons of Summit.

Maize’s menu also makes local sourcing a priority. From heirloom corn varieties to globally inspired corn-based dishes, ingredients arrive from nearby farms that prioritize organic and regenerative practices. Balancing herbs, fruits and spices, the cocktails also are crafted with plants grown in the restaurant’s own outdoor garden.

Celebrating its grand opening on Oct. 15, Maize Cocina & Cocktails' kitchen is open from 5 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday – Saturday, with the bar open until 11 p.m.; and on Sundays the kitchen is open from 5 to 8:30 p.m., with the bar open until 9 p.m. For more information, call 908-936-4050.

HELMETTA, NJ - In local rases on Election Day, there are two open seats for the Spotswood Board of Education on the ballot. Spotswood Board of Education Vice-President Bertrand Louis is running for re-election. Helmetta resident Jaclyn Poissonnier and Spotswood resident Erik Williams are also seeking one of the open seats.

Poissonnier has been a resident of Helmetta for the past six years.

"Before living in Helmetta, I experienced a few other New Jersey school districts while navigating my way as a single parent," Poissonnier said.

Poissonnier and her husband Dan have four children.

"This school year my husband and I will have our oldest in high school, another in middle school, our youngest in Appleby Elementary, while our 14-year-old will be continuing his education at the East Brunswick Magnet School," Poissonnier said.

Poissonnier works as a marketing coordinator for a Freehold engineering firm.

"My hybrid schedule is instrumental in order to allow me to work from home a few days a week to help my kids with school work and projects, after-school clubs, sports, part-time jobs, and being available for wherever else my little family taxi needs to go," Poissonnier said.

Currently, she is volunteering her time to help the Spotswood High School Project Senior Week Committee. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family.

"I love Friday nights around the kitchen table playing card games with my kids," Poissonnier said. "My absolute favorite thing to do in my free time is attending Pilates and yoga classes."

Poissonnier has not held a public office before, but decided to run for one of the open seats on the Spotswood BOE in the upcoming 2024 election.

"I think it would be beneficial to have a Helmetta voice on the board," Poissonnier said. "I would like to use my energy to further unite the parents and Board of Education, by being completely transparent and always approachable to address any concerns."

As a parent in the Spotswood School District, Poissonnier's favorite part of the school experience is the teachers.

"My children have been so blessed," Poissonnier said. "So many of our teachers are the most warm, supportive, and engaged people that I have ever met. My children have had many last days of school with tears because of how much they will be missed."

If elected to the Spotswood Board of Education in November, Poissonnier has goals she'd like to accomplish.

"I am committed to fostering an environment where teachers are supported, parents are involved, and students are empowered," Poissonnier said. "Our schools should always provide a safe space for our children to learn and grow and to feel comfortable in their environment, while the parents are confident that their children’s safety and needs are put first."

Poissonnier feels communication between parents and board members is an issue impacting the Spotswood School District.

"I have recently been approached by some parents who have concerns regarding issues they have brought up in the past and felt that they have not been heard," Poissonnier said. "I would like to bridge that gap."

"I want our parents to know wholeheartedly they can voice an opinion or an issue at a board meeting and walk away confident that they were heard and that that topic will be addressed with importance," Poissonnier added.

Election Day is on Tuesday, November 5. To register to vote or learn about vote-by-mail and early voting options, visit the Middlesex County website.
