Physical Therpy For Injuries and Pain in Long Branch, NJ

If there's one universal truth in life, it's that it can be unpredictable. Everyone experiences unexpected events that throw us off. While some surprises may only affect our bank accounts, such as home expenses, others can cause physical harm, such as car accidents that result in long-term pain and discomfort. Many Americans suffer from chronic neck and back pain - according to research, half of Americans over 18 develop musculoskeletal injuries that last longer than a year. These injuries often cause a range of mobility issues that make everyday tasks seem hard to do. The DRX9000: Relief from Chronic Back and Neck Pain

Are you sick of living day-to-day with long-lasting neck or back pain? Have you searched high and low for a safe and effective alternative to surgery? The DRX9000 may be the answer you're looking for.

Beloved by high-level athletes and even celebrities, this advanced medical device employs non-surgical spinal decompression therapy to treat painful conditions such as:

  • Bulging Discs
  • Herniated Discs
  • Spinal Stenosis
  • Facet Syndrome
  • Sciatica
  • Arm Pain from Nerves in Your Neck

The DRX9000 is a device that has been approved by the FDA for treating herniated discs through spinal decompression therapy. This therapy works by applying equal amounts of pressure on your vertebral columns, which stretches your spine and creates a gap between spinal discs. This gap allows for better nutrient flow through your spine, which can help heal injuries gradually with regular treatment sessions. The DRX9000 also utilizes servo motors that rely on nested closed-loop feedback to customize therapy to your unique needs. By using DRX9000, you can often speed up your recovery by addressing your spinal disc issues ASAP.

No Harmful Medications Needed (Do we really need this paragraph or could we just mention it int he beginning about how it is a non-pharmaceutical method)

Perhaps the most significant advantage of the DRX9000 is that it provides a non-pharmaceutical method for relieving pain. With the opioid epidemic affecting the entire nation, many patients are reluctant to take prescription painkillers. The DRX9000 offers a secure and non-addictive alternative for pain relief that does not require medication.

During the course of the treatment, the patient will lie down on a specially designed table that is connected to the machine. The table will then be gently stretched as the machine creates negative pressure within the affected disc. This process will be repeated over a series of sessions, typically ranging from 20 to 30 sessions, depending on the patient's specific condition.

The DRX9000 treatment is considered to be safe and effective for many patients. It is designed to be gentle on the body, and patients usually experience little to no discomfort during their sessions. The machine is also equipped with advanced safety features, including sensors that can detect any sudden movements and stop the machine if necessary.

Experience Optimized Healing with LiteCure Low-Level Laser Therapy

After reading the headline above, you might be asking yourself, "Are lasers really used for physical therapy in cityname, state?" The answer to your question would be a resounding "Yes!" This advanced type of laser therapy harnesses the power of light through photobiomodulation (PBM), which is revolutionizing how patients heal and deal with pain.

Photobiomodulation (PBM) is a medical process that utilizes targeted light to activate the body's natural healing mechanisms. By penetrating deep into the tissue, photons interact with mitochondria (the cellular powerhouses in your body) to increase energy production. This interaction triggers a biological cascade that leads to increased cellular metabolism. As a result, PBM can reduce pain, accelerate tissue repair, and enhance overall well-being.

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is a non-invasive and painless treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to stimulate healing and reduce pain. It works by penetrating the skin and tissues to promote cellular activity and increase blood flow, which in turn helps to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and accelerate the healing process.

LLLT has been shown to be effective for a variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, arthritis, neuropathy, and more. It is a safe and gentle treatment option that can aid in regaining function and mobility from injuries, accidents, surgeries, and other conditions. That makes it a viable and trustworthy addition to your personalized physical therapy plan from NJ Sports Spine & Wellness.

LLLT has shown promising results for challenging conditions that other treatments can't match. Some of the most common conditions treated include:

Understanding the Powerful Benefits of Ice Compression Therapy

Game Ready Ice Compression Therapy is an advanced treatment technique that combines the advantages of modern cryotherapy (ice therapy) with the proven benefits of compression therapy. This clinically proven, synergistic approach is widely used in sports medicine, physical therapy, orthopedics, and post-operative care to speed up recovery, alleviate pain and inflammation, and enhance rehabilitation.

The "cold" component of ice compression therapy helps nullify nerve-ending sensitivity, which provides pain relief. The extra compression gives you even more pain relief by reducing swelling and pressure on limbs and other body parts.

By improving lymphatic flow and enhancing blood circulation, compression therapy can help reduce swelling and edema, thereby improving your recovery process and simultaneously reducing pain and discomfort.

The concurrent use of cryotherapy and compression can enhance the body's innate healing mechanisms by reducing inflammation, mitigating tissue damage, and stimulating tissue repair.

Game Ready's combination therapy has been shown to be effective in improving joint flexibility and range of motion by promoting tissue healing. This treatment can be a great option for those looking to alleviate discomfort and improve overall joint health.

LONG BRANCH, NJ — The Long Branch Free Public Library reopened its historic main library area last Thursday, Feb. 20.

The main library section of the Long Branch Library was completely renovated, made possible by a $6.2-million matching grant, funded from the New Jersey Library Construction Bond Act and the city of Long Branch.

The Long Branch Library is located at 328 Broadway, and Thursday's ribbon-cutting reopening was attended by hundreds of community members, local officials and library staff.

The Long Branch Public Library was built more than 100 years ago and had endured significant flooding, underscoring the urgent need for waterproofing and system upgrades.

The library traces its origins to a private reading room established in the 19th century. It was formally incorporated as a free public library in 1916 with a $30,000 grant from steelmagnate Andrew Carnegie, who dedicated the final decades of his life to funding public libraries across the United States and beyond.

During the renovation, the removal of a drop ceiling revealed long-hidden architectural details from the original Carnegie design. Library Director Tonya Garcia uncovered these forgotten elements, which had been concealed for decades.

The renovated space showcases both historical preservation and modern functionality. A striking ocean-themed arched glass entryway welcomes visitors, reflecting the library’s coastal setting and historic Carnegie design. The removal of drop ceilings has uncovered beautiful original windows, allowing natural light to flood the space.

The library now features energy-efficient lighting, a new three-zone HVAC system and extensive waterproofing. A new emergency generator ensures continuous service to the community. Additional spaces, including a Local History Room, Teen Room, Huddle Rooms for private study and a Sensory Room for children have also been added.

"We celebrated not just the cutting of a ribbon but the realization of a long-held vision," said library director Garcia Feb. 20. "Over thirteen years ago, we embarked on a journey to create a library that would stand among the best in the nation, and the completion of this project fulfills that vision. With its deep legacy and purpose, this library belongs to the people of Long Branch."

Community offers opportunities to advance and grow a career

Community Contributor

After she moved to the area, a friend told Sereen Morales about Seabrook, an Erickson Senior Living community in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. With her home health license in tow, she applied for and secured a home health aide position and began working at the community.

“I loved the residents but I was mostly set in one place for a majority of the day,” she says. “I wanted something a little more fast-paced with the chance to help more residents.”

Seabrook encourages team members to investigate other potential areas for growth, and Morales took the time to learn about the many departments around campus. At Seabrook, it’s not just about the hired position for a team member, but the opportunity to advance and grow a career within any of Erickson Senior Living’s communities across the country.

Each employee has structured one-on-one meetings with their supervisor, when they learn about community updates, Erickson enterprise developments and immediate needs for their success. Much time is spent focusing on their individual growth.

“We work with every team member to create an individual development plan to give them a pathway for advancement,” says Jim MacDonald, Seabrook’s human resources director. “If you’re a dishwasher today and want to be a nurse tomorrow, we will help you create a plan and achieve your goals during the course of your employment with us.”

Find out what's happening in Long Branch-Eatontownfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

There are a variety of programs in place through Erickson Senior Living to help team members grow.

For one, the 2024 Internal Career Expo showcased career pathways and development opportunities for team members.

“Our goal is to provide our talented and diverse team members with meaningful work experiences that match their career interests and goals,” MacDonald notes. “That’s why we host the Career Expo and educate our employees about the ample opportunities available in the community.”

In addition, a formal cross training program enables team members to experience different positions throughout the community, for up to two months, to determine if they could see themselves in that role.

Also, a formal mentoring program pairs employees with seasoned staff members in another department. Over a nine-month period, they build a strong working relationship, learn new skills, network, experience the one-team culture, and rely on a dedicated coach to help navigate challenging situations.

This year, Erickson introduced a joint program with LeggUp, a professional development firm that provides talent coaching and skill building for high performing team members.

“At Seabrook, when we hire someone, we’re always looking to their future,” MacDonald explains. “It’s how we intentionally grow our business and grow our culture of caring for people.”

After investigation, the security department intrigued Morales and supervisors encouraged her to transfer. She was hired as a security officer, escorting ambulances, responding to pull cord calls, and resetting smoke detectors.

At the same time, she shadowed lead officers in the department. They took her on emergency medical responder (EMR) calls and explained policies.

“They showed me everything I needed to know and answered all of my questions,” she noted.

She was also encouraged to pursue additional training to advance in her new career. Erickson Senior Living offered the emergency medical responder (EMR) course at Seabrook, and Morales became an EMR officer. Last year, as a result of the certification, she was promoted to lead officer.

In this new position, Morales is giving back, acknowledging the support she received from department leaders, mentors and Erickson Senior Living to help her advance in her career.

“I teach classes and review policies and needed renewals,” Morales explains. She’s planning to complete coursework to become an instructor and teach onsite EMR and CPR classes. She may even return to college to pursue a nursing degree, with assistance from Erickson’s tuition reimbursement program.

“I am evolving and helping other people to evolve. The opportunities are just endless, not just for our department, but throughout the community.”

Watch your calendar! Be on the lookout for the 2025 Career Expo at Seabrook!

LONG BRANCH, NJ — Kushner Companies is abandoning plans to build what would have been their third hotel in Long Branch, and now wants to build a luxury condo building there instead.

This is the property — currently vacant — at the corner of Morris and Ocean avenues in Long Branch, right next to the Wave resort, also owned by Kushner. All of this is within walking distance of Pier Village.

The hotel would have been six stories and 107 rooms, with a spa. However, Kushner said it now wants to build an eight-story residential condominium complex there instead, consisting of 46 condos total, with an outdoor pool, terraces and a covered parking garage.

This was first reported in the Asbury Park Press, but is publicly available in planning documents Kushner had to submit to the Long Branch City Council, available here (starts at page 113). The Long Branch City Council will review Kushner's request at their Wednesday night meeting.

The hotel would have been called the Onada Surf Club. It is not known what the new condo complex — should it get city approval — will be named.

Find out what's happening in Long Branch-Eatontownfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

The hotel would have been Kushner's third beachfront hotel in Long Branch; the developer already owns and operates Wave Resort and the Bungalow Hotel.

Late last year, President Donald Trump named Charles Kushner, 70, U.S. ambassador to France, after Trump granted him a pardon during his first term as president; Kushner admitted he hired a prostitute to seduce his brother-in-law and videotaped him, then sent the videotape to his sister to intimidate her from testifying before a grand jury.

Charles Kushner is the well-known Long Branch developer who owns Pier Village and Monmouth Mall in Eatontown, which his company is in the midst of an ambitious project to tear down and rebuild as Monmouth Square, luxury townhomes centered around a center green.

Kushner and his wife still live in Long Branch to this day. Kushner's son, Jared Kushner, is married to Trump's daughter Ivanka, and is one of Trump's closest advisors, particularly on the matter of U.S.-Israel relations.

Kushner's daughter, Nicole Kushner Meyer, has assumed a leadership role in the family's development business: She is now president of Kushner Cos. and currently overseeing construction of 299 apartments and a supermarket on Broadway in Long Branch. (Read that story: Major New Kushner Investment In Long Branch: 299 Apts. On Broadway, March 2024)

Kushner has four children total; his other son Josh is married to model Karlie Kloss.

Kushner is also the owner of the One Journal Square project in Jersey City, next to the PATH station, where they've invested nearly $1 billion in apartments and retail. And in 2024 Kushner broke ground on a new residential development in Colts Neck, featuring 15 three-story buildings with 360 residences and upscale amenities.

Kushner also owns a 55+ rental community in Fair Lawn, and a 265-residence complex in East Hanover.

NEPTUNE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Attentive Energy, an offshore wind developer that was previously awarded a bid to build wind turbines off the Jersey Shore (the Attentive Energy 2 project), joined with a pair of husband-wife scallop farmers to make a significant seafood donation to Fulfill food bank.

They made the donation last Thursday, Jan. 16. They donated 1,250 pounds of fish and seafood to Fulfill's warehouse in Neptune.

The future of offshore wind in New Jersey is incredibly shaky, as newly sworn-in President Donald Trump just signed an executive order Monday that temporarily halts offshore wind lease sales in federal ocean waters. Trump's executive order also puts a pause on all wind farm development, including permits and loans, both offshore and on land.

And — although hundreds of thousands of acres of the Atlantic Ocean off New Jersey were leased to offshore wind developers under the Biden administration — not a single wind turbine has been constructed yet off the Jersey Shore.

Scallop Shack Farms is a direct-to-consumer seafood company based in Cape May and Atlantic counties. It was founded by husband-and-wife team Brady Lybarger and Amanda Axelsson. Brady, a commercial scallop captain for over 13 years, and Amanda, who transitioned from a career in wine sales to work full time for their business, started the company during the 2020 quarantine.

Find out what's happening in Long Branch-Eatontownfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

The couple started out selling scallops and shrimp from the back of a pick-up truck during the quarantine. Scallop Shack Farms has since expanded to hosting seafood pop-ups and opened a brick-and-mortar location at the Cape May County airport. The company is known for selling fresh and frozen seafood, with a focus on top-quality, wild-caught and American-caught products. Scallop Shack Farms has a history of donating their high-quality seafood to local New Jersey food banks.

Each month, Fulfill helps 103,000 food-insecure people across Monmouth and Ocean counties.

Donations to food banks tend to slow down significantly after the holiday season.

Attentive Energy, the potential wind farm developer, has been actively engaging with the fishing communities of the New York Bight since 2018, four years prior to securing their federal lease area to build wind turbines. Engagement efforts have included regular port visits, one-on-one meetings, attending public meetings and participating in fishing forums across the Northeast.

Through these engagements, Attentive Energy has developed a broad network of fisheries-related contacts and continues to rely heavily on the feedback gained to responsibly develop offshore wind.

"It’s an incredible opportunity to partner with visionary entrepreneurs like Scallop Shack Farms to support local partners who are helping feed our communities," said Damian Bednarz, managing director of Attentive Energy. "This donation reflects our project’s values and ongoing commitment to communities throughout New Jersey and our dedication to fostering strong relationships with local fisheries and small businesses."

"Giving back to our community has always been a core value of our business. We are excited to work with Attentive Energy to make the start of the new year a little brighter for families in need," said Lybarger and Axelsson.
