Not only is the staff incredible, the facility is new and cleanly. I’d like to tell you about my experience. I had hurt my shoulder lifting. It was an overuse injury. I went to NJ Sports Spine and wellness in tears. I was in so much pain I could not bear it. They brought me in a private room with the head Chiropractor Tony Ambrogio and Elisa, an amazing OT. I told them what was going on, they immediately started treating and working on me. Tony carefully adjusted me and Elisa performed OT with deep tissue massage in the area. They also used a laser that penetrates deeply into the muscle to accelerate healing. I was required to attend physical therapy three times a week for four+ weeks. I will admit, hearing that was not ideal. However, as I continue going, feeling a difference in my pain, and gradually healing, I started to really enjoy it. Not only have they worked on my posture, they have strengthen the muscles around the affected area to relieve the strain and pain. The first week attending, I performed a strength test, about a month and a half later, I repeated the test and have increased my strength in all areas of my upper back and neck area. It has been about two months since I started going, and I can say I am currently pain-free. With the adjustments, the occupational therapy, and the physical therapy, I can say I am healed. Going forward, I am going to continue the exercises and stretches they have shown me to make sure that this never happens again. I have also been able to include certain exercises in my personal workouts that I previously needed to avoid that would have aggravated my neck and upper back. Overall, my experience has been wonderful. Like I said, the staff is absolutely wonderful! Everyone is so nice, caring, and I can see them all go above and beyond for every patient. Even when I was sick with the flu, I received a phone call from my chiropractor Tony and my OT Elisa to check in on me. I can’t think of any other business that cares as much about their patients as NJSSW. Both Tony and Elisa are so easy to talk to, they always make me feel comfortable and well taken care of. On a side note, I have had to bring my three-year-old toddler with me on a few occasions. They were very accommodating, they offered and provided a private room. Elisa even played with my son in between her clients in order for me to perform my exercises without a distraction. The team there goes above and beyond. Even staff that I have not personally worked with greet me by name and assist as needed. The front desk staff is always friendly and very accommodating with booking appointments and rescheduling if need be.

Let's start at the beginning. The parking lot always has spots available, even on the busiest days at the busiest times. The pavement is smooth and the parking spots are clearly marked... As you enter the Matawan location, you are greeted with a finely manicured carpet displaying the facility's logo. To the right are a set of glistening glass double doors that welcome you into the immaculate waiting room. Once inside, you could be lucky enough to encounter Ang, Amanda, or one of the many other ladies that inhabit the area behind the front desk. They will always welcome you with a smile, eagerly print out your receipt, or discuss the song verses that adorn their arms in case they ever forget the words. If you have to wait a few minutes for your treatment, you can treat yourself to reading the biography of many of the employees on the complimentary television screen. Once into the treatment area, you will be instantly whisked away to the exercise area where a host of professionals will guide you through your journey of rehabilitation. No matter who you get, you will be in good hands. Hopefully you’ll be lucky enough to have Liam working the music. His playlist is second to none. Personally, my Occupational Therapists are Katelynn Bissett and Alyssa Bark. Two of the best in my opinion. I can't leave out Lindsey who I see once a week and has been terrific. 3 bulging discs and severe shoulder pain are things of the past thanks to these ladies. Okay, that's all I've got. KEANSBURG, NJ — It's not just the Keansburg fishing pier: Marinas all along Raritan Bay are witnessing their wooden pilings uprooted by ice.

"The ice is freezing around the pilings," said Gary Carr, who owns multiple fishing shops along Raritan Bay, including Fishing Flea Market Bait & Tackle in Keyport and Keyport Bait & Tackle. "As the high tide comes in — and we just had a full moon two days ago — the water level rises four to five feet. It's literally pulling the pilings out of the ground. The next high tide keeps pulling them more and more out of the ground. So if it doesn't thaw out, the pilings just keep getting pulled out."

That's exactly what happened to the Keansburg Fishing Pier, a beloved local fishing spot that extends about 2,000 feet into Raritan Bay. At midday Tuesday, the portion of the wooden pier that's farthest into the bay collapsed; see video of the damaged pier here. Carr shared this photo of the damage: https://www.facebook.com/photo...

"It's not just the Keansburg pier," he said. "There are marinas up and down the coast that are worried this is going to happen to them next."

"I would say every marina in this area is going to have repercussions because of this ice," said John DeSilvestri, the owner of Keyport Marine Basin. He too has had some pilings uprooted by ice, he said Wednesday.

"I just called a company to come out and look at it," he said. "The last time I saw the bay this frozen was in the '70s, '80s. It's just Mother Nature. We won't know how bad the damage is until it all thaws."

The ice on Raritan Bay is so thick this winter that Seastreak canceled its ferry service out of Highlands and Atlantic Highlands. It is still running limited ferry service from Belford, where they are using a tugboat as an icebreaker. Competitor NY Waterway had to cancel some ferry routes from South Amboy and is substituting with buses. NY Waterway also has an ice-breaking boat.

And with temperatures expected to plummet back down to the single digits this weekend, don't expect Raritan Bay to unfreeze anytime soon.

"Highlands Marina is worried," said Carr. "People are asking what's gonna happen to the Navy Pier (in Middletown); we think that will be OK. But it may get worse in the next full moon phase coming up in two weeks. We're not gonna be out of this for a month."

"I'm 50 years old and I've never seen (the bay) frozen like this," said Carr. "I've seen it skim over in past winters, but nothing like this. The last time I saw the bay frozen like this was photos from the 1920s."

The Keansburg fishing pier is owned by the Gehlhaus family, the same family that owns Keansburg Amusement Park. A woman named Kathi Smock manages the pier, a job she took over from her father. She told News 12 Tuesday she plans to rebuild.

"I hope they do," said Carr. "It's a great local staple."
