If there's one universal truth in life, it's that it can be unpredictable. Everyone experiences unexpected events that throw us off. Many Americans suffer from chronic neck and back pain - according to research, half of Americans over 18 develop musculoskeletal injuries that last longer than a year. These injuries often cause a range of mobility issues that make everyday tasks seem hard to do. The DRX9000: Relief from Chronic Back and Neck Pain

Are you sick of living day-to-day with long-lasting neck or back pain? Have you searched high and low for a safe and effective alternative to surgery? The DRX9000 may be the answer you're looking for.

Beloved by high-level athletes and even celebrities, this advanced medical device employs non-surgical spinal decompression therapy to treat painful conditions such as:

  • Bulging Discs
  • Herniated Discs
  • Spinal Stenosis
  • Facet Syndrome
  • Sciatica
  • Arm Pain from Nerves in Your Neck

The DRX9000 is a device that has been approved by the FDA for treating herniated discs through spinal decompression therapy. This therapy works by applying equal amounts of pressure on your vertebral columns, which stretches your spine and creates a gap between spinal discs. This gap allows for better nutrient flow through your spine, which can help heal injuries gradually with regular treatment sessions. The DRX9000 also utilizes servo motors that rely on nested closed-loop feedback to customize therapy to your unique needs. By using DRX9000, you can often speed up your recovery by addressing your spinal disc issues ASAP.

No Harmful Medications Needed (Do we really need this paragraph or could we just mention it int he beginning about how it is a non-pharmaceutical method)

Perhaps the most significant advantage of the DRX9000 is that it provides a non-pharmaceutical method for relieving pain. With the opioid epidemic affecting the entire nation, many patients are reluctant to take prescription painkillers. The DRX9000 offers a secure and non-addictive alternative for pain relief that does not require medication.

During the course of the treatment, the patient will lie down on a specially designed table that is connected to the machine. The table will then be gently stretched as the machine creates negative pressure within the affected disc. This process will be repeated over a series of sessions, typically ranging from 20 to 30 sessions, depending on the patient's specific condition.

The DRX9000 treatment is considered to be safe and effective for many patients. It is designed to be gentle on the body, and patients usually experience little to no discomfort during their sessions. The machine is also equipped with advanced safety features, including sensors that can detect any sudden movements and stop the machine if necessary.

Experience Optimized Healing with LiteCureâ„¢ Low-Level Laser Therapy

After reading the headline above, you might be asking yourself, "Are lasers really used for physical therapy in cityname, state?" The answer to your question would be a resounding "Yes!" This advanced type of laser therapy harnesses the power of light through photobiomodulation (PBM), which is revolutionizing how patients heal and deal with pain.

Photobiomodulation (PBM) is a medical process that utilizes targeted light to activate the body's natural healing mechanisms. By penetrating deep into the tissue, photons interact with mitochondria (the cellular powerhouses in your body) to increase energy production. This interaction triggers a biological cascade that leads to increased cellular metabolism. As a result, PBM can reduce pain, accelerate tissue repair, and enhance overall well-being.

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is a non-invasive and painless treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to stimulate healing and reduce pain. It works by penetrating the skin and tissues to promote cellular activity and increase blood flow, which in turn helps to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and accelerate the healing process.

LLLT has been shown to be effective for a variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, arthritis, neuropathy, and more. It is a safe and gentle treatment option that can aid in regaining function and mobility from injuries, accidents, surgeries, and other conditions. That makes it a viable and trustworthy addition to your personalized physical therapy plan from NJ Sports Spine & Wellness.

LLLT has shown promising results for challenging conditions that other treatments can't match. Some of the most common conditions treated include:

Game Ready Ice Compression Therapy is an advanced treatment technique that combines the advantages of modern cryotherapy (ice therapy) with the proven benefits of compression therapy. This clinically proven, synergistic approach is widely used in sports medicine, physical therapy, orthopedics, and post-operative care to speed up recovery, alleviate pain and inflammation, and enhance rehabilitation.

The "cold" component of ice compression therapy helps nullify nerve-ending sensitivity, which provides pain relief. The extra compression gives you even more pain relief by reducing swelling and pressure on limbs and other body parts.

By improving lymphatic flow and enhancing blood circulation, compression therapy can help reduce swelling and edema, thereby improving your recovery process and simultaneously reducing pain and discomfort.

The concurrent use of cryotherapy and compression can enhance the body's innate healing mechanisms by reducing inflammation, mitigating tissue damage, and stimulating tissue repair.

Game Ready's combination therapy has been shown to be effective in improving joint flexibility and range of motion by promoting tissue healing. This treatment can be a great option for those looking to alleviate discomfort and improve overall joint health.

The track-owning Napp family, who have operated the facility since 1965, made the announcement that it would cease operations of its quarter-mile and one-eight-mile drag racing facility while continuing to hold other auto- and motorcycle-related activities.

The stated intention is to reorganize the company’s business operations, the family said.

“Raceway Park will retain and use the ‘stadium’ portion of the facility including the VIP hospitality tower and grandstands, and continue most of its operations,” according to a statement from the track organizers. This will include “spring and fall auto swap meets, numerous car shows, both motocross racing and practice, kart racing, as well as drifting, a full schedule of road course activities, mud runs, monster truck shows, musical concerts, & festival events and more.”

The family intends to keep running Old Bridge Township Airport, a wholly owned and operated flight facility on its premises.

This year’s intended NHRA Summernationals event would have been NHRA’s 49th visit to E-town, as it’s widely called. The racing facility is home track for current three-time Pro Stock Motorcycle champion Eddie Krawiec and for three-time Top Fuel title-holder Antron Brown, both of whom have celebrated victories at this venue. It’s also the site of an accident that changed the face of NHRA’s nitro classes, after Kalitta Motorsports’ driver Scott Kalitta perished in a top end crash in June of 2008. NHRA adopted 1,000-foot track distances shortly thereafter, deeming the quarter-mile too dangerous at many venues, particularly older tracks like Raceway Park.

“The Napp family wishes to express their most sincere gratitude to the NHRA and the many thousands of racers and fans, without whom would never allowed Raceway Park to become the iconic and nationally recognized drag racing facility it has over the past five decades,” their statement said.

Newly promoted NHRA president Glen Cromwell stated: “NHRA drag racing events have been held at the track in Englishtown for almost 50 years. The Summernationals have played an important part in our heritage and we hope that fans in the area will try to make it to another one of our events.

“Our focus remains on making the NHRA Mello Yellow Drag Racing Series a memorable experience for our fans, racers, sponsors, partners and tracks.”

NHRA’s most successful Funny Car racer, 16-time champion John Force is “really sad to hear about the loss of Englishtown. That is a great market and the fans were amazing,” he said.

“I won a lot of national events and match races there. This is a major loss. I want to thank the whole [Napp] family for helping me kick-start my career. I will always treasure them.”

Former driver Darrell Gwynn added, “This makes me sick to my stomach; I cherish my wins there.”

The nation’s most prominent drag racing series now has no activities in the NY/NJ mega-market. The closest venues for fans in those states to witness NHRA would either be Reading, PA, Epping, NH or Norwalk, OH.

On September 3rd, 1977, the Grateful Dead returned to the stage at Englishtown, NJ’s Raceway Park for the band’s first show in three months after a car accident left drummer Mickey Hart temporarily unable to play. The group was welcomed back by a record-breaking crowd numbering at least 125,000 fans, with some sources claiming as many as 175,000 were in attendance.

Originally billed as the Summer’s End Concert but known to posterity simply as “The Englishtown Show”, the historic concert featured sets by Marshall Tucker Band and New Riders of the Purple Sage and nearly didn’t happen at all due to a a state law that required a permit for any concert lasting over 18 hours and yielding over 3,000 people. Luckily, authorities allowed the show to go on, but only after they were assured that the Hells Angels would not be providing security for the Dead.

With limited parking at the venue, locals offered to let fans park on their properties, while some left their vehicles miles from the venue and walked the rest of way. Like Woodstock, which brought scores of surprisingly polite young hippies to an unsuspecting small town, The Englishtown Show wound up impressing locals like John Westlake, who worked concessions at the concert. Fans purchased an estimated 200,000 cans of soda and 15,000 pounds of hotdogs, “But they were great, stood in line, waited patiently, and no one tried to start an argument,” Westlake said.

Musical highlights of the performance included the first “Truckin'” in over two years, and the first “Terrapin Station” since the release of the of the same name. “And now ladies and gentlemen, we’d like to play a little ditty from our newest album, at your record stores currently,” Phil Lesh said introducing the tune. There were many non-musical highlights as well, including when a woman went into labor shortly after Marshall Tucker Band’s opening set. She was evacuated by helicopter and gave birth to a heady, I mean healthy baby boy.

The Englishtown Show was released on Dick’s Picks Vol. 15 in 1999. Listen via Spotify here or check out the full recording below, courtesy of the DeadLists Project.

MARLBORO, NJ — Marlboro and Englishtown residents who co-owned medical equipment companies were arrested this week in one of the largest health care fraud schemes ever investigated by the FBI and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office.

Seven people in New Jersey – and 24 overall – were charged in the massive Medicare fraud sweep, federal authorities announced Tuesday. The scheme involved peddling orthopedic braces to hundreds of thousands of senior citizens via foreign call centers. The probe targeted executives of telemedicine and durable medical equipment companies and doctors who wrote bogus prescriptions for unnecessary orthopedic braces, the Justice Department said.

The U.S. Attorney's Office brought charges against Neal Williamsky 59, of Marlboro and Nadia Levit, 39, of Englishtown. Williamsky and Levit co-own approximately 25 medical equipment companies and they were charged with participating in the $150 million scheme that involved kickbacks and bribes. A Toms River doctor, Joseph DeCoroso, M.D., 62, was also charged.

Under the scheme, telemarketers reached out to senior citizens with offers for "free" orthopedic braces, and those who seemed interested were patched through to an "international telemarketing network" with call centers in the Philippines and throughout Latin America. After their Medicare coverage was verified, the seniors were transferred to telemedicine companies for consultations with doctors, who then wrote prescriptions, according to federal officials.

Those prescriptions were then sold to medical equipment companies that would ship the braces to patients and bill Medicare. The medical companies got Medicare payments of $500 to $900 per brace from Medicare, and would pay kickbacks of nearly $300 per brace, officials said.

Find out what's happening in Marlboro-Coltsneckwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

The proceeds of the fraudulent scheme were laundered through international shell corporations and were used to purchase luxury automobiles, yachts and real estate in the United States and abroad, the government said.

The Medicare Fraud Strike Force began investigating the scheme last summer after multiple complaints from senior citizens began pouring into the fraud hotline. The true extent of the alleged scheme is unknown, and some cases involve gray areas of complex payment policies.

Experts say part of the problem is that Medicare is required to pay medical bills promptly, which means money often goes out before potential frauds get flagged. Investigators call that "pay and chase."

In recent years, Medicare has tried to adapt techniques used by credit card companies to head off fraud. Law enforcement coordination has grown, with strike forces of federal prosecutors and agents, along with state counterparts, specializing in health care investigations.

The Medicare beneficiaries drawn into the orthopedic braces scam didn't have to pay anything up front, but Cantrell said they have been harmed as well: A beneficiary's private information, once in the hands of fraudsters, can be resold for many illegal purposes.

Additionally, if a beneficiary whose information was misused ever does need an orthopedic brace, he or she may encounter waiting periods from Medicare. The program limits how often it pays for certain supplies and equipment.

"It can be very attractive to receive equipment," Cantrell said. "But after giving out your identifying information, it could be compromised to perpetuate additional fraud. There is no fraud without the ID number of a Medicare beneficiary."

In New Jersey, attorneys also brought charges against Creaghan Harry, 51, of Highland Beach, Fla; Lester Stockett, 51, of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; and Elliot Loewenstern, 56, of Boca Raton, Fla. The latter two were owner, CEO and VP of marketing, respectively, of purported call centers and telemedicine companies. They were charged with participating in $454 million worth of the illegal health care kickbacks and international money laundering, according to the release.

Albert Davydov, 26, of Rego Park, NY, was also charged for his alleged participation in a $35 million scheme related to kickbacks and bribes.

In addition, administrative action was taken against 130 companies that had submitted over $1.7 billion in claims and were paid over $900 million, according to the release.

The Associated Press, Karen Wall and Beth Dalbey contributed reporting.

A small, family-owned salon in Englishtown received some surprise attention this summer after appearing on an episode of “Tabatha Takes Over,” a television-show where business woman Tabatha Coffey rehabilitates a struggling business. And Coffey definitely helped Nadia’s Family Salon.

Kevin Lichen, the owner of Nadia’s, has lived in Englishtown for 12 years. He began working as a hairdresser at his father’s barber shop and then worked in a salon at the Freehold Raceway Mall, before finally opening up his own salon on Main Street in Englishtown called Head’s Up.

Lichen decided to take the risk of opening his own salon and put his life savings into the venture. He said that Englishtown was a perfect location because at the time there was no beauty salon in the Borough.

After several years, Lichen changed the salon’s location when he heard about a new strip mall being constructed on Wilson Avenue and renamed the salon after his daughter.

Soon Lichen realized that running a salon was not as easy as he thought. At the beginning of 2012, he said that he realized his business was not headed in the right direction and that he needed a third party to come in and help resolve the management and financial issues.

Interested in local real estate?Subscribe to Patch's new newsletter to be the first to know about open houses, new listings and more.

“It was a wake up call,” Lichen said.

Enter Tabatha Coffey. Coffey is a successful business woman and hair designer from Australia who rocketed to fame on her reality show “Tabatha Takes Over,” which airs on the Bravo network.

As an owner of a salon, Lichen has watched “Tabatha Takes Over” for many years and with his salon in jeopardy he said he thought that Coffey would be the right person to whip the business back into shape. He contacted Coffey, and after numerous interviews with Bravo, his salon was chosen to be on the show.

The no-nonsense Coffey showed up at Nadia’s in September 2012 ready to fix the salon’s problems and immediately took the bull by the horns, according to Lichen. While they knew that they would be on the show, Lichen said that he did not know when Coffey specifically would be arriving and the first day of filming was a surprise.

Both Lichen and his employees described Coffey as “scary and intimidating” upon first meeting her, but soon realized that she was an extremely nice person that just did not put up with any excuses.

During the week of filming, Coffey was vocal about helping the staff and Lichen communicate better and work more as a team. “We basically knew what we had to do, but we, being stubborn, had to hear it from a third party,” Lichen said of himself and his staff. Coffey also helped Lichen become a better boss. He said that “she made him grow a set of balls” and take responsibility for his actions and to be consistent.

Along with the managerial help, Coffey also gave the salon a new redesign that is more contemporary and fresh.

One thing that did not need much improvement? The hair styling.

Danielle, a hair dresser at the salon and one of Lichen’s first employees, said that she was pleased that Coffey approved of the staff's hair dressing skills because “that was the most important thing.”

The Nadia’s Salon episode of “Tabatha Takes Over” aired in late June and since then business has increased, according to Lichen. Beyond that, however, nearly everything has improved. Coffey’s “take over” instilled more motivation in the staff, as well as in Lichen. He said that his debt has diminished, everyone is now getting paid on time, and the staff arrives at the salon on time.

“Her coming into the salon definitely changed a lot of our ways, thinking and stuff like that and us getting along and rebuilding relationships,” Lichen said.

As for the overall experience?

“I would do it again in a heartbeat,” said Lichen. Hopefully, he won’t have to.

When you walk out 45 minutes later, you are calm, relaxed and clear as can be.

How?

Salt; that is how.

I've personally heard of salt water immersion but have you ever been inside a cave filled with 13 tons of salt from Pakistan!?

You can and thanks to NJ.com, I now know that it is right here at the Jersey Shore.

It is called Himalayan Salt Cave Spa & Float and it is located at 330 US-9, in Englishtown.

Fun fact: Forty five minutes in one of these Himalayan Salt Caves is said to do the same amount of healing as floating in saltwater for 20 hours. Powerful stuff.

To start, these caves are filled with La-Z-Boy chairs. You pop a squat and let the cave work its wonders.

According to NJ.com, the caves are described as, "low-lit [with] blocks of salt stacked on the walls like bricks. On the floor, there are large granules of the Himalayan salt into which you may submerge your feet, similar to sand on the beach."

A sky of stars is above thanks to a nifty projector to put the cherry on top. A 45 minute session costs $49.00.

You'll love this, parents. There are separate caves for adults and kids.

And just to be clear, Himalayan Salt Cave Spa & Float is not a one-trick pony. They also offer massages, facials, hand & foot treatments, hair removal, flotation therapy and they even have their own sauna.

They also offer salt cave parties (who knew that was a thing) and discounted group rates for large parties.

Second guessing if you're interested? You shouldn't. They have thousands of customers and their clientele is only continuing to grow.

*Slowly raises my hand*...hopefully soon, I will be among them?

Remember: breathe in, breathe out.

And if you need a solid meal after your relaxation session, here are some solid choices:
