If there's one universal truth in life, it's that it can be unpredictable. Everyone experiences unexpected events that throw us off. While some surprises may only affect our bank accounts, such as home expenses, others can cause physical harm, such as car accidents that result in long-term pain and discomfort. Many Americans suffer from chronic neck and back pain - according to research, half of Americans over 18 develop musculoskeletal injuries that last longer than a year. These injuries often cause a range of mobility issues that make everyday tasks seem hard to do. Unfortunately, many people with chronic pain turn to addictive medications and invasive surgeries for relief, which tends to lead to further complications.
However, if you are experiencing chronic pain or mobility issues, there's good news: Safer and more effective options are available to you. Physical therapy in Adelphia, NJ is one of the best solutions for eradicating pain, maximizing mobility, improving range of motion, building muscle strength, and helping you regain control of your body. At NJ Sports Spine & Wellness, our physical therapists and trainers offer customized programs designed for your body and address your pain symptoms. That way, you have the best possible chance of reclaiming a normal, active life, without surgery or harmful pills.
With the incorporation of therapeutic exercises and manual therapy as well as newer techniques and modalities like AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmills and DRX9000 Spinal DecompressionMachines, our physical therapy services can help address conditions such as:
Physical therapy can provide numerous benefits, such as pain reduction, enhanced joint and body movement, improved range of motion, proper alignment, and more. While the main goal of physical therapy is to restore function and facilitate a return to regular activities, these outcomes usually result from a broader rehabilitation process, wherein many patients learn a brand-new way of moving.
At NJ Sports Spine & Wellness, our physical therapists work closely with patients to understand their unique goals, preferences, and abilities. Based on their findings, they create a customized treatment plan that caters to the patient's specific needs.
Here are just a few specific examples of why physical therapy is crucial when recovering from an injury:
Whether you're searching for long-term pain relief or need to improve your strength and balance as you age, physical therapy from NJSSW can help.
Now that you understand why physical therapy is crucial for recovery and wellness, let's take a closer look at some of the most effective treatments at our physical therapy clinic in New Jersey.
Are you sick of living day-to-day with long-lasting neck or back pain? Have you searched high and low for a safe and effective alternative to surgery? The DRX9000 may be the answer you're looking for.
Beloved by high-level athletes and even celebrities, this advanced medical device employs non-surgical spinal decompression therapy to treat painful conditions such as:
The DRX9000 is a device that has been approved by the FDA for treating herniated discs through spinal decompression therapy. This therapy works by applying equal amounts of pressure on your vertebral columns, which stretches your spine and creates a gap between spinal discs. This gap allows for better nutrient flow through your spine, which can help heal injuries gradually with regular treatment sessions. The DRX9000 also utilizes servo motors that rely on nested closed-loop feedback to customize therapy to your unique needs. By using DRX9000, you can often speed up your recovery by addressing your spinal disc issues ASAP.
No Harmful Medications Needed (Do we really need this paragraph or could we just mention it int he beginning about how it is a non-pharmaceutical method)
Perhaps the most significant advantage of the DRX9000 is that it provides a non-pharmaceutical method for relieving pain. With the opioid epidemic affecting the entire nation, many patients are reluctant to take prescription painkillers. The DRX9000 offers a secure and non-addictive alternative for pain relief that does not require medication.
During the course of the treatment, the patient will lie down on a specially designed table that is connected to the machine. The table will then be gently stretched as the machine creates negative pressure within the affected disc. This process will be repeated over a series of sessions, typically ranging from 20 to 30 sessions, depending on the patient's specific condition.
The DRX9000 treatment is considered to be safe and effective for many patients. It is designed to be gentle on the body, and patients usually experience little to no discomfort during their sessions. The machine is also equipped with advanced safety features, including sensors that can detect any sudden movements and stop the machine if necessary.
The AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill boasts NASA Differential Air Pressure (DAP) technology, which is a highly accurate air calibration system that leverages your actual body weight to achieve exceptional results in rehab and training. By utilizing a pressurized air chamber, the AlterG allows you to move freely and without pain, as it uniformly reduces gravitational load and body weight by up to 80% in precise 1% increments. This process helps foster improved muscle strength, balance, function, range of motion, and overall fitness.
AlterG®'s state-of-the-art treadmill provides an entire range of benefits, such as mimicking natural movement and rhythm without the contrived feel of hydrotherapy or harnesses attempting to imitate real-life strides and motions. Additionally, it's beneficial for speeding up recuperation after orthopedic injuries or surgeries by enabling early mobilization and retaining strength. Furthermore, it's excellent for sports recovery since athletes can utilize it to maintain their physical fitness.
Some of the numerous benefits of using the AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill include:
The AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill is a revolutionary piece of equipment that has transformed the field of physical therapy. With its list of unique features and superhero-worthy benefits, this anti-gravity treadmill is a game-changer that can help you achieve your fitness and recovery goals while also minimizing the risk of injury.
After reading the headline above, you might be asking yourself, "Are lasers really used for physical therapy in cityname, state?" The answer to your question would be a resounding "Yes!" This advanced type of laser therapy harnesses the power of light through photobiomodulation (PBM), which is revolutionizing how patients heal and deal with pain.
Photobiomodulation (PBM) is a medical process that utilizes targeted light to activate the body's natural healing mechanisms. By penetrating deep into the tissue, photons interact with mitochondria (the cellular powerhouses in your body) to increase energy production. This interaction triggers a biological cascade that leads to increased cellular metabolism. As a result, PBM can reduce pain, accelerate tissue repair, and enhance overall well-being.
Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is a non-invasive and painless treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to stimulate healing and reduce pain. It works by penetrating the skin and tissues to promote cellular activity and increase blood flow, which in turn helps to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and accelerate the healing process.
LLLT has been shown to be effective for a variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, arthritis, neuropathy, and more. It is a safe and gentle treatment option that can aid in regaining function and mobility from injuries, accidents, surgeries, and other conditions. That makes it a viable and trustworthy addition to your personalized physical therapy plan from NJ Sports Spine & Wellness.
LLLT has shown promising results for challenging conditions that other treatments can't match. Some of the most common conditions treated include:
If you're slogging through life and suffering from one or more of the conditions above, you should know that there is hope for pain relief. Contact NJ Sports Spine & Wellness today to find out if low-level laser therapy is right for you.
Game Ready Ice Compression Therapy is an advanced treatment technique that combines the advantages of modern cryotherapy (ice therapy) with the proven benefits of compression therapy. This clinically proven, synergistic approach is widely used in sports medicine, physical therapy, orthopedics, and post-operative care to speed up recovery, alleviate pain and inflammation, and enhance rehabilitation.
Understanding the Powerful Benefits of Ice Compression Therapy
Game Ready Ice Compression Therapy is an advanced treatment technique that combines the advantages of modern cryotherapy (ice therapy) with the proven benefits of compression therapy. This clinically proven, synergistic approach is widely used in sports medicine, physical therapy, orthopedics, and post-operative care to speed up recovery, alleviate pain and inflammation, and enhance rehabilitation.
The "cold" component of ice compression therapy helps nullify nerve-ending sensitivity, which provides pain relief. The extra compression gives you even more pain relief by reducing swelling and pressure on limbs and other body parts.
By improving lymphatic flow and enhancing blood circulation, compression therapy can help reduce swelling and edema, thereby improving your recovery process and simultaneously reducing pain and discomfort.
The concurrent use of cryotherapy and compression can enhance the body's innate healing mechanisms by reducing inflammation, mitigating tissue damage, and stimulating tissue repair.
Game Ready's combination therapy has been shown to be effective in improving joint flexibility and range of motion by promoting tissue healing. This treatment can be a great option for those looking to alleviate discomfort and improve overall joint health.
Whether you're recovering from surgery or you're trying to manage chronic pain in your back or joints, ice compression therapy may be the advanced treatment you need. Contact NJSSW today to learn more about how this treatment can help you live an active life free of pain.

Adelphia has been a family-run restaurant — and destination — in Gloucester County for nearly 25 years.
“I grew up here,” said owner Evelyn Balis. “It’s expanded over the years. We started as a restaurant and small bar, then grew to a bigger restaurant and bigger bar and nightclub, and about 10 years ago we added the banquet facilities.”
Adelphia offers the complete experience with ambiance, nightlife, entertainment and food for every taste.
Flavor — Adelphia offers lunch and dinner seven days a week and brunch on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Brunch includes a variety of breakfast and lunch items such as made-to-order omelettes, fresh fruits and a chocolate lava fountain.
The lunch menu features sandwiches, soups and salads in smaller portions than the dinner entrees.
“It’s a good buy for lunch,” Balis said. “You get soup, salad and a dessert. We’re big in quantity as well as quality. Most people take a good portion home with them.”
Dinners range from pizzas baked in a wood-buring oven to “guiltless” entrees to steaks and seafood.
Balis said the fire-roasted Maryland crab cakes are a popular menu item.
Menu — From brunch to dinner to happy hour snacks, Adelphia's menu is chock full of a variety of different flavors — one to please every taste bud.
The newest item on Adelphia’s menu are SALADelicious Summer Salads which bring a fresh, cool, healthy approach to summer dining.
“These are phenomenal,” Balis said. “Each one includes a cup of soup and the salad portions are large.”
Summer salads include the Caprese Salad which is a tower of layered tomatoes and mozzarella slices atop baby greens and cucumbers, with shaved carrot and beet spirals, covered in a balsamic vinaigerette dressing.
The Hoisin Salad features scallops wrapped in bacon over a bed of greens. The Starburst Salad has strawberries, raspberries, goat cheese and a raspberry vinaigrette dressing. And the taco salad comes in a large taco shell.
“The presentation and quality are phenomenal,” Balis said.
Dessert — All of Adelphia's desserts, pasteries, pies and cakes are made on the premises.
“The Adelphia cheesecake is topped with chocolate sponge cake, mousse filling, chocolate glaze and topped with a cherry,” Balis said. “That, our chocolate-covered cheesecake and chocolate-covered strawberries are our most popular items.”

Atmosphere — Balis describes Adelphia as having a casual atmosphere that is family-oriented and friendly.
“It’s not a fine dining environment,” she said. “People stop in after school or a sporting event, or there could be a business meeting going on in the back.”
Many staff members have been with Adelphia since “day one” including Chef Philip Hernandez, the sous chef and several key kitchen staffers.
“This is a place of comfort for people,” Balis said. “A significant portion of our customers are repeat visitors.”
Adelphia has specials and events each night of the week including ’80s and ’90s music dance party with DJ Nick Teti on Tuesdays, WOGL’s Bob Pantano’s Dance Party every Thursday and a live broadcast with Pantano every Saturday.
Every Wednesday is Family and Kids Night with Amazing Balloon Creations, Tuesdays feature $5 burger specials and each Friday is Pizza Party Night with two pizzas for $12.
Hours — Adelphia Restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch, 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. for dinner every day. Nightclub/bar hours are 11 to 2 a.m. from Sunday to Thursday and 11 to 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

DEPTFORD – A lawyer for Adelphia Restaurant has disputed a lawsuit’s claims that the business improperly used models’ photographs in its social media accounts.
“Adelphia will vigorously defend these claims,” attorney Joseph Grimes said of the suit, brought against the restaurant by 10 models from California, Florida and the United Kingdom.
The suit alleges Adelphia used the models’ photos — without their permission and without payment — for social media posts that promoted the restaurant and nightspot.
Grimes asserted the models were aware “that event promoters, not Adelphia, sourced models' photos from third-party vendors who represented they were authorized to market the photos.”

The Ocean City attorney also noted the lawsuit “falsely alleges over a dozen times that Adelphia used the images for commercial purposes as a strip club.”
The suit against Adelphia shares language with similar complaints against two South Jersey strip clubs, Babe’s Nola in Burlington Township and the now-closed Centerfolds Cabaret in Pleasantville.
The Adelphia lawsuit initially identifies the defendant on multiple references as a restaurant and nightclub. But all three suits use the phrase “strip club” in describing the defendants in counts alleging unfair competition and false endorsement.
Grimes said the models were “fully aware of Adelphia's operations as a family restaurant and event facility, hosting banquets and weddings.”
“No strip club events have ever been held at Adelphia,” he said.
All three suits were filed March 31 and April 1 in Camden federal court by attorney William Pinilis of Morristown.
Each suit seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages for misrepresentation of likeness and unfair competition.
They also demand any profits earned through the use of the models' photosair and payment to the models of "fair market value" for their services.

HOWELL, N.J.— The Adelphia School plans to "roar and explore" through nature. It is among 26 New Jersey public schools and districts selected to receive Sustainable Jersey for Schools grants. The grants are funded by the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA).
Adelphia School received a $10,00 grant for a Roar and Explore Outdoor Classroom. According to a statement from the program, the school will create an outdoor classroom that is inclusive to all students, regardless of ability.
The classroom well be designed to foster social and emotional learning and provide hands-on sustainability education. The goal of the project is to deepen students’ connection to nature while encouraging play.
Sixteen $10,000 grants and 10 $2,000 grants were distributed to support a variety of projects, including aquaponics systems, outdoor classrooms, pollinator and edible gardens, water bottle refilling stations, tree planting, food waste and composting initiatives, mindfulness programs, student green team capacity building and more.
Adelphia Principal Danielle Palazzolo explained the importance of the grant in a statement from the grants program:
“Adelphia is a kindergarten through second-grade school that believes individuals should have equal access to inclusive learning environments. As a recognized Title I school, Adelphia serves many socioeconomically disadvantaged students and a high percentage of English Language Learners.
"The outdoor classroom will provide an environment that enriches behaviors that support learning, fosters social and emotional learning and the well-being of both students and staff, while closing achievement gaps. The outdoor classroom will provide students with a wide variety of hands-on learning experiences. Unstructured play will enhance children's confidence, problem solving, independence, social interaction skills, and creativity,” she said.
With this contribution NJEA has provided $1.75 million to support a sustainable future for children across the state through the Sustainable Jersey for Schools program.
“This is an important program that directs resources into our schools and NJEA is proud to continue to work with Sustainable Jersey,” said NJEA President Sean Spiller. “When our students can learn, at an early age, that sustainable and healthy practices often go 'hand in hand' with economic efficiencies, we all benefit from the positive changes. It is our job to help create a new generation of engaged citizens and leaders. We help ensure that we leave a better world for our students when we emphasize the value of sustainability.”
In addition to the grant funding, NJEA supports Sustainable Jersey for Schools as a program underwriter.
“Sustainable Jersey is proud to support the work of each of these schools and school districts and to recognize the dedication of every applicant,” said Sustainable Jersey Executive Director Randall Solomon. “These creative projects are exceptional and will serve to accelerate school-centered sustainability programs as we head into a pivotal decade for climate action and sustainability in our state.” Proposals were judged by an independent Blue-Ribbon Selection Committee.
Sustainable Jersey for Schools is a certification program for public schools in New Jersey. It was launched by Sustainable Jersey, an organization that provides tools, training and financial incentives to support and reward municipalities and schools as they pursue sustainability programs. Pet parents in Howell Township can breathe a little easier: first responders here have a new tool to help save family pets in home fires and other emergencies. The Adelphia Fire Company recently received a donation of three sets of pet oxygen masks from at-home pet services provider Canine Company.
The kits were requested by Adelphia former chief and training officer Brian Prochnow after he learned about Canine Company’s philanthropic effort to get pet oxygen masks into the hands of first responders.
“The Adelphia Fire Company is beyond grateful for the generous donation of pet oxygen mask kits,” said Prochnow. “We recognize the fact that pets are a part of people’s families, too! We are now more prepared to help all members of the household in their time of need.”
Family pets are at special risk during a home fire because they are unable to leave the house without help. An estimated 40,000 die each year nationwide from smoke inhalation, according to insurance industry estimates. Human oxygen masks do not fit the shape of pets’ snouts, making it difficult for first responders to provide oxygen on scene. Pet oxygen masks are cone-shaped to fit over an animal’s snout.
Each donated set of masks includes three sizes to fit a wide range of pets – from small mammals like rabbits to giant breed dogs. The masks have been used by first responders to save at least nine pets so far this year, including .
“Our company was founded by a family of pet lovers and our mission is to help other families keep their pets healthy, safe and happy at home,” said Renee Coughlin of Canine Company. “We do that with the products and services we offer, and through our pet masks donation campaign. We are delighted to provide these masks to Howell firefighters to help protect family pets in their district.”
To ensure rescuers know there are pets in a home, Canine Company has offered free “Pets Inside” decals to local pet parents. The stickers are available from Adelphia Fire Company, or can be requested by mail through the Request a Decal form on Canine Company’s website.
Canine Company helps families across New York, New England and New Jersey keep their pets healthy, safe and happy at home with services like Invisible Fence pet containment systems and Manners dog obedience training. Over the past decade, the Company has donated masks to more than 500 fire departments and rescue squads across the northeast. For more information, visit www.caninecompany.com.
Adelphia Fire Company was founded in 1927 and provides fire protection to the northern most areas of Howell.. The company responds to emergency calls of all types including, but not limited to, all types of fires, fire and carbon monoxide alarms, and motor vehicle accidents. The company operates out of two stations, is 100% volunteer and currently has more than 60 active members. For more information or be volunteer, visit www.adelphiafirecompany.com.

HOWELL – Howell Township Middle School North and Adelphia School both received $10,000 grants from Sustainable Jersey for environmental projects.
The schools were among 26 New Jersey public schools and districts selected to receive grants which are funded by the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA).
Adelphia School, a kindergarten through second grade school, will be using the grant to create a “Roar and Explore” Outdoor Classroom. The purpose of the outdoor classroom is for it to be inclusive to all students, regardless of ability. Its special design will foster social and emotional learning and provide hands-on sustainability education, according to a statement on the program.
In addition, the project’s goal is to deepen students’ connection to nature while encouraging play.
Adelphia School Principal Danielle Palazzolo said that students should have equal access to inclusive learning environments.
“As a recognized Title I school, Adelphia serves many socioeconomically disadvantaged students and a high percentage of English Language Learners. Unstructured play will enhance children’s confidence, problem solving, independence, social interaction skills, and creativity.”
At Middle School North, they will be creating a “Limitless Café” which will be a space to host its 21st Century Life Skills program. This will prepare students to make informed life and career decisions and will be inclusive of all students regardless of ability.
Students will also use the space to practice skills related to effective communication, critical thinking, digital literacy and self-advocacy, the statement said.
Middle School North Principal Paul Farley said the Limitless Café was engineered by Computer Teacher Teresa Castellan and Media Specialist Josephine Schneider to offer students a comfortable space to collaborate, problem-solve, and excel.
“Furnished with high-top tables and chairs, as well as accessible booth seating…our Limitless Café will serve up opportunities for students to utilize calendars, navigation tools, email, literacy skills, text to speech, communication, and engage in real-life experiences,” Farley said. “By creating real-life experiences for students to engage in, we are motivating students to integrate higher-order thinking skills. Ultimately, the Café will empower students to become independent, efficient, and innovative lifelong learners.”
