Shoulder Pain
Shoulder pain is a common condition that can significantly impact an individual’s quality of life. It can range from mild discomfort to severe pain and can be caused by a variety of factors. Understanding the causes, symptoms, and treatment options for shoulder pain can help individuals manage their symptoms and improve their overall health and well-being.
Causes Of Shoulder Pain
Shoulder pain can be caused by many different factors, including injury, overuse, inflammation, and degeneration. Common causes of shoulder pain include rotator cuff injuries, frozen shoulder, bursitis, tendonitis, and arthritis. Other possible causes of shoulder pain include nerve damage, shoulder dislocation, and bone fractures.
Symptoms Of Shoulder Pain
The symptoms of shoulder pain can vary depending on the underlying cause. Common symptoms include pain or discomfort in the shoulder, stiffness or limited range of motion, weakness in the arm or shoulder, and swelling or tenderness around the joint. Some people may also experience additional symptoms such as tingling or numbness in the arm or hand.
Treatment Options For Shoulder Pain
The treatment options for shoulder pain depend on the underlying cause of the pain. NJSSW offers several types of treatment for shoulder pain and injuries. Chiropractic care may help alleviate pain and increase mobility of your shoulder. Our physical therapists can also develop custom rehabilitation programs and exercises to improve strength and range of motion. Our occupational therapists will also work with you to develop plans and strategies to get you back to your daily activities so your shoulder pain and injury doesn’t interfere with your life.
While we can help rehabilitate you after injuries and surgery, we can also help determine if surgery is a necessary course of action if you haven’t already undergone a surgical procedure to fix an existing injury.
